Scott Kovalik is a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BTIG. Mr. Kovalik co-founded BTIG in 2005, and Baypoint Trading, a predecessor company of BTIG, in 2002. Under his leadership, BTIG has grown into a premier provider of institutional trading, investment banking, research and prime and fund services worldwide. With more than 600 employees and offices in 18 global locations throughout the U.S., and in Europe, Asia and Australia, the firm continues to gain market share and expand its footprint worldwide. Commanding a deep understanding of global markets, Mr. Kovalik has steered the direction of the firm for more than 15 years.

Starting on Wall Street in 1987, he has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to BTIG and Baypoint Trading, Mr. Kovalik was Head of Global Equities at Banc of America Securities. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Equity Trading at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities. Mr. Kovalik also held a number of senior management roles within the Institutional Equities Trading division at Montgomery Securities, prior to Nations Bank’s acquisition of the firm in 1997. He began his career on Wall Street at Salomon Brothers in New York City. Mr. Kovalik earned an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Steven Starker is a Co-Founder of BTIG. He co-founded BTIG in 2005 and Bass Trading, a predecessor company of BTIG, in 2003. In his current role, Mr. Starker is responsible for leading the firm’s strategic direction. Part of a leadership team that believes in actively servicing clients, he helps drive BTIG’s business development efforts from his pivotal seat on the institutional equities trading desk. With more than 600 employees and offices in 18 global locations throughout the U.S., and in Europe, Asia and Australia, the firm continues to gain market share and expand its footprint worldwide.

Mr. Starker has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Previously, he spent three years at Goldman Sachs as a partner within the Equity Trading division. Earlier in his career, Mr. Starker was a Co-Chief Executive Officer and Partner of the Capital Markets division of Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, until its acquisition by Goldman Sachs in 2000. He began his career with Spear, Leeds & Kellogg in 1987 as an Institutional Sales Trader and Market Maker. Mr. Starker earned his BA from Muhlenberg College.

Brian Endres is a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of BTIG. He is responsible for the day-to-day finance, accounting and regulatory reporting at the firm. Prior to BTIG, Mr. Endres was a Managing Director of ThinkEquity Partners, where he served in a variety of roles including Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he was the Controller of Wells Fargo Securities. Earlier in his career, Mr. Endres was Vice President of Finance and Director of West Coast Finance at JP Morgan Securities (formerly Hambrecht & Quist). He earned a bachelor of business administration with a degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Anton LeRoy is President of BTIG. Mr. LeRoy helps to lead the firm’s ongoing expansion and architects company strategy worldwide. Previously, he was BTIG’s Chief Operating Officer and Head of Fixed Income Currency and Commodities, overseeing BTIG’s global business operations, and managing the firm’s Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) division. Mr. LeRoy is also a member of the firm’s Global Operating Committee. Prior to BTIG, he was a Senior Vice President within Capital Markets at E*Trade, where he was responsible for the firm’s Global Electronic Trading and Automated Market Making divisions. In 2000, Mr. LeRoy joined E*Trade as Chief Information Officer within the firm’s Brokerage unit. Previously, he was a Director and the Global Head of Prime Brokerage Technology at Deutsche Bank and a Vice President within Emerging Markets at SBC O’Connor.

Mr. LeRoy earned a BA in mathematics from the City University of New York, Hunter College.

Jennifer Mermel is Chief Operating Officer of BTIG. Ms. Mermel ensures that the firm has the optimal operational controls, administrative procedures, reporting capabilities and systems as well as the right leaders in place to effectively foster growth, financial strength and operating efficiency. Previously, she was the Chief of Staff of BTIG, managing the firm’s Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Administrative and Real Estate teams, and coordinating philanthropic giving. Ms. Mermel is also a member of the firm’s Global Operating Committee. She has overseen some of BTIG’s largest contracts, including market data, healthcare and leasing. Ms. Mermel has worked closely with the firm’s strategic partners to improve operating efficiencies and is a founding member of BTIG. She was instrumental in launching BTIG’s European and Asia-Pacific international affiliate entities as well as Bass Trading, a predecessor firm. From 2005 through 2008, she was BTIG’s Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in her career, Ms. Mermel was a Vice President on the Program Trading desk at Goldman Sachs, subsequent to their purchase of Spear, Leeds and Kellogg. She earned a BA in history from the College of Holy Cross, and an MA in international political economy and development from Fordham University.

Pawan Misra is a Managing Director and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at BTIG, where he is also a member of the firm’s Global Operating Committee. He has nearly 30 years of industry experience. As CTO, Mr. Misra is responsible for the development of next generation technologies, manages critical infrastructure, and plays a key role in shaping the technology agenda across businesses worldwide. Prior to BTIG, he ran High Performance Hosting at Credit Suisse, as Global Head of Low Latency Electronic Trading Infrastructure and GRID Computing. Mr. Misra focused on engineering and maintaining solutions for the firm’s electronic trading clients, internal market making systems and proprietary dark pool. He was also responsible for developing a global public cloud connectivity platform at the firm for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS connectivity worldwide. Earlier in his career, Mr. Misra was Global Head of Databases at Bloomberg, where he held several roles between 2003 and 2011. He was a Quant Developer at PDT and Morgan Stanley, responsible for designing and deploying PDT’s fully automated model of an equities pairs trading system. Mr. Misra began his career as a Systems Manager at D.E. Shaw. He earned a BA in computer science from Columbia College, and an MBA from Heriot-Watt University.
