BTIG Builds Out Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets Group with Ansel Hall, Stephen Ortiz and Anthony Wayne


New York – April 25, 2017 – BTIG, LLC announced today that Ansel Hall, Stephen Ortiz and Anthony Wayne have joined the firm’s Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets Groups. Mr. Hall, Mr. Ortiz and Mr. Wayne will collaborate with the firm’s existing investment banking and equity capital markets professionals to structure transactions, develop deal opportunities and strengthen the advisory capabilities of both businesses. BTIG’s three new hires will be based in the San Francisco office, expanding the group’s footprint on the West Coast.

Mr. Hall joins BTIG as a Managing Director and Head of Consumer Investment Banking. He has an extensive investment banking background. Prior to BTIG, Mr. Hall held several senior investment banking roles at JMP Securities, Banc of America Securities, Montgomery Securities and Merrill Lynch. He was also a Co-Founder and Managing Member of Three & Five and Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Blossom Organics, two consumer-related companies.

Mr. Ortiz joins BTIG as the Head of Syndicate and Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets. Prior to BTIG, he spent 14 years as Head of Equity Capital Markets and Syndicate at JMP Securities. Previously, Mr. Ortiz held equity capital markets roles at Banc of America Securities and Montgomery Securities including Managing Director and U.S. Head of Equity Syndicate and Equity Capital Markets. He began his capital markets career with roles at Hambrecht & Quist and Wedbush Morgan.

Mr. Wayne joins BTIG as a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Investment Banking. Prior to BTIG, he spent 13 years at JMP Securities in real estate investment banking, most recently as a Managing Director. Previously, Mr. Wayne served in similar investment banking roles at Lehman Brothers and UBS.
