Project Sunshine

Spreading Sunshine to Pediatric Patients and their Families

Project Sunshine is a nonprofit organization that provides free educational, recreational, and social programs for children facing medical challenges and their families. The organization empowers a dynamic corps of over 15,000 volunteers to bring programming, such as creative arts and crafts, tutoring, and mentoring to 100,000 children and their families across 175 cities throughout the U.S. and in Canada, China, Israel, and Kenya. Their programming relieves the anxiety and isolation of the pediatric environment and helps foster in brave young patients the courage and coping skills necessary to confront the medical challenges ahead.

BTIG COLLABORATION AND IMPACT:

For the past eight years, Project Sunshine has been a recipient of donations through its partnership with BTIG Charity Day. With BTIG’s support, Project Sunshine continues to create customizable experiences and programs to fit the needs of young patients, families, healthcare facilities, and volunteers. Prior donations have gone toward the general funding of programs including, but not-limited to, hospital-based recreational and educational activities for patients; care packages for patients and caregivers; book club programs; and program awareness activities that include social media campaigns and advertisements. Celebrity ambassadors have also participated on BTIG Charity Day for the last few years fielding calls alongside the firm’s institutional traders on behalf of Project Sunshine.  Celebrities have included Chrissy Teigen, Olivia Culpo, Laurie Hernandez, David Diehl, Damaris Lewis, and a number of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA titleholders – all ardent volunteers who also dedicate time to bring sunshine to vulnerable children.

“At Project Sunshine, we are honored to be a part of BTIG Charity Day, and proud to be able to spread sunshine for children and their families due to the generosity of donors like BTIG.”
