Michael Van Allen

Michael Van Allen is a Managing Director within Technology at BTIG. He works on the firm’s technical and trading infrastructure, compliance technology, cybersecurity and strategic technology initiatives worldwide. Mr. Van Allen is a member of BTIG’s Leadership Committee. He joined Baypoint Trading, a predecessor firm of BTIG, in 2002. Between 2000 and 2002, Mr. Van Allen was a Vice President of Trading Technology at Banc of America Securities, where he was responsible for the firm’s equity trading technology. He began his career in 1993 with Montgomery Securities, where he held a number of positions in technology support and on the NASDAQ market-making desk. Mr. Van Allen received his BA in economics and international relations from the University of California, Davis.
