Thomas Smykowski

Thomas Smykowski is a Senior Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Securities at BTIG. He is responsible for the firm’s Global Portfolio, ETF, and Electronic Trading businesses. Mr. Smykowski leads a team of sales professionals, strategists, quantitative financial engineers, and systems developers in this role. Before BTIG, he managed the Global Portfolio and ETF Execution desk at ConvergEx, an affiliate of BNY Mellon, between 2005 and 2013. Previously, he was on the Portfolio Trading desk at Bear Stearns, a firm he joined in 1999 as a connectivity and DMA expert. Mr. Smykowski began his career as an electrical engineer developing control systems for the Power Plant division of General Electric. He received a BS in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
