BTIG Adds Joel Fishbein to Launch Software and Cloud Technology Research Coverage
New York – August 4, 2015 – BTIG, LLC, a global financial services firm specializing in institutional trading, investment banking, research and related brokerage services, announced today that Joel Fishbein has joined the firm as a Managing Director within its Research and Strategy Group. Mr. Fishbein’s research coverage will focus on software and cloud technology.
Covering the software and cloud technology space on the sell-side for over 14 years, Mr. Fishbein has a deep understanding of the industry and has received numerous industry recognitions for his work. At BTIG, Mr. Fishbein will serve as the lead analyst for software and cloud technology research, a new area of research coverage within the technology, media and telecommunications sector for the firm. “Joel brings an impressive track record built over a distinguished career,” said Karen Blando, Director of Research at BTIG. “His unique perspective and critical thinking will greatly enhance our Research and Strategy offering and prove incredibly valuable to our clients.”
Prior to joining BTIG, Mr. Fishbein was a Managing Director and Senior Analyst at BMO Capital Markets and Lazard Capital Markets. Previously, he spent five years as a Senior Technology Analyst at Janney Montgomery Scott. Mr. Fishbein also spent four years on the buy side as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Analyst at Gardner Lewis Asset Management and the State of New Jersey, respectively. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief of Staff and Lobbyist for The Carmen Group, a government relations firm, focused on legislative issues related to telecommunications and technology. Mr. Fishbein began his career as a legal advisor and attorney. He has been awarded a number of recognitions for his work that include being named a five-star-rated analyst by Thomson Reuters’ StarMine Analyst Awards, Best on the Street by The Wall Street Journal and a Top-Rated Software Analyst by Thomson First Call.
