BTIG Adds Julian Emanuel as Chief Equity and Derivatives Strategist


New York – November 17, 2017 – BTIG, LLC announced today that Julian Emanuel has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Chief Equity and Derivatives Strategist. Based in New York, Mr. Emanuel will join BTIG’s Research and Strategy team.

“As a widely-respected strategist, Julian will add significant depth to our product offering,” said Karen Blando, Director of Research at BTIG. “His macro and micro market research will offer important directional strategy for our equity and derivatives clients.”

At BTIG, Mr. Emanuel will provide top-down analysis of broad market trends, sectors, valuation and volatility with a focus on U.S. equity markets and U.S.-listed derivatives. “Leveraging decades of equity derivatives experience, Julian will generate actionable market research and trading ideas for clients,” said Wes Gradone, Managing Director and Co-Head of Equity Derivatives Trading at BTIG.

Prior to BTIG, Mr. Emanuel was Head of U.S. Equity and Derivatives Strategy at UBS. Previously, he accumulated over two decades of experience as a Portfolio Manager, Risk Manager and Proprietary Trader with Tiedemann Investment Group, Goldman Sachs, Spear, Leeds and Kellogg, and Credit Suisse Asset Management. Earlier in his career, Mr. Emanuel was also Head of North American Equity Derivatives Sales at Tullett Prebon. He began his career as a floor options trader with Timber Hill Inc.
