BTIG Investment Banking Adds Shingo Yatsui as Head of Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions

New York – April 16, 2019 BTIG announced today that it has hired Shingo Yatsui as a Managing Director and Head of Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions within its Investment Banking division. Mr. Yatsui will be based in San Francisco and will spend significant time in the Asia Pacific region. In his new role, he will report into JT Herman, Managing Director and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at BTIG.

Mr. Yatsui will lead BTIG’s emerging mergers and acquisitions business for Asia-based clients looking to identify transactions and other valuable opportunities in the U.S. and European market, and for U.S.-based clients looking to execute within Asia. “We are pleased to welcome Shingo to BTIG’s Mergers and Acquisitions team,” commented Scott Kovalik, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BTIG. “Having focused almost exclusively on Asia M&A throughout his career, Shingo is the ideal fit to run international deal making. Given his ability to identify cross-border opportunities, we feel confident that his arrival will help to significantly expand the global reach of our banking business.”

Prior to BTIG, Mr. Yatsui was a Director within the Industrials, Electronics and Semiconductors Investment Banking teams at GCA, where he focused on buy-side M&A opportunities for large-cap Asian strategic buyers and sell-side M&A activity and capital raises for U.S. companies looking to secure Asian investors. Earlier in his career, he was Vice President of Investments and a member of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications team at ITX, a subsidiary of Sojitz Corporation.

BTIG’s investment banking products include mergers and acquisitions, capital markets advisory, IPOs, follow-on offerings, ATMs, CMPOs, RDs and PIPEs, SPACs, private placements, convertibles, debt, buybacks, liquidity solutions, venture capital, private equity and private capital. Clients benefit from proprietary and actionable market intelligence, and BTIG’s comprehensive understanding of financial dynamics. Aftermarket services include trading coverage and corporate access, connecting issuers with the buy side.

The firm also offers high-quality trade execution and expertise throughout the Asia-Pacific. With dedicated coverage teams staffed across BTIG’s affiliated locations in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney, clients have access to regional points of contact with an in-depth understanding of local markets.
