BTIG Adds Aerospace, Defense and Government Services Specialist Michael Papazis as a Director to Its Investment Banking Division


New York – August 11, 2020 BTIG announced today that it has hired Michael Papazis, an aerospace, defense and government services specialist, as a Director within its Investment Banking division. Mr. Papazis will be based in the firm’s New York office, and will report to JT Herman, Managing Director and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, at BTIG.

In his new role at BTIG, Mr. Papazis will originate transactions and advise clients focused on the aerospace, defense and government services sectors. “We are pleased to welcome Michael to BTIG. He has an impressive track record of supporting the aspirations of aerospace, defense and government services clients. Michael’s excellent relationships with many of the largest and most prominent emerging companies in these sectors is a testament to his focus on client service,” noted Mr. Herman. “We believe that he will be an instrumental part of our team as we expand our advisory business.”

Prior to BTIG, Mr. Papazis was a Managing Director, Head of Aerospace, Defense and Government Services Investment Banking at Scott-Macon, Ltd. Previously, he was a Vice President within Industrial Growth and Services at Oppenheimer & Co. Earlier in his career, Mr. Papazis was a Senior Associate within Aerospace and Defense Investment Banking at Jefferies & Company. He earned a BA in economics and government, cum laude, from Dartmouth College. Mr. Papazis also holds a master of arts in international affairs from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
