Scott Kovalik is a Co-Founder of BTIG and Co-Chairman of the BTIG Group. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of BTIG from 2005-2023. Mr. Kovalik co-founded BTIG in 2005, and Baypoint Trading, a predecessor company of BTIG, in 2002. Under his leadership, BTIG emerged as a leading provider of institutional trading, investment banking, research, and prime and fund services worldwide, opening 20 offices across 8 countries.

Starting on Wall Street in 1987, Mr, Kovalik has more than 30 years of global experience in the financial services industry. Prior to BTIG and Baypoint Trading, Mr. Kovalik was Head of Global Equities at Banc of America Securities. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Equity Trading at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities. Mr. Kovalik also held senior management roles within the Institutional Equities Trading division at Montgomery Securities, prior to Nations Bank’s acquisition of the firm in 1997. He began his career on Wall Street at Salomon Brothers in New York City. Mr. Kovalik earned an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
