BTIG Futures and Commodities Announces London Metals Exchange Membership

BTIG announced today that it has been approved as a member of the London Metals Exchange (LME). The firm is now an LME Category 4 member, a move which will help with the expansion of BTIG’s Futures and Commodities coverage worldwide.

LME membership is critical to BTIG’s long-term strategy. It allows the firm to more seamlessly trade metals in the European market and is an important milestone in the growth of their fixed income, currency and commodities business.

“We continue to make investments in the infrastructure and partnerships necessary to strengthen our offering,” noted Suraj Raythatha, Managing Director and Head of BTIG LME Metals Trading. “The LME relationship helps us to provide tremendous liquidity, access to best pricing and the execution capabilities necessary to effectively trade within the global metals marketplace.”

BTIG’s Futures and Commodities division accesses more than 30 exchanges worldwide, servicing a unique client base of hedge funds, asset managers, CTAs and commercial hedgers. The firm’s experienced professionals offer clients high-quality execution of futures and options for short and long-term interest rates, equity indices, foreign exchange and commodities. Value-added services include global macro commentary, market insights and productive trading strategies.

“We aim to source the critical liquidity required for clients to express their macro views,” noted Martin Ferraro, Managing Director and Co-Head of Foreign Exchange, Futures and Commodities. “Our new LME membership enhances our capabilities as we work to help clients meet their hedging and investment goals.”
