BTIG Investment Banking Group Experiences Record Growth Marked by More Than 100 Transactions Since January 2015

New York – March 23, 2017 – BTIG, LLC announced today that its Investment Banking Group has successfully executed more than 100 transactions since January 2015. BTIG was founded twelve years ago specializing in institutional equities trading across the U.S. Today, the firm has expanded to offer multi-asset class execution, investment banking, equity research and related brokerage services across nine U.S. offices and five affiliate offices in Europe, Asia and Australia. The move into investment banking began in 2013, and the growth of the business has significantly increased in the last 24 months. To help clients continue to meet their objectives, BTIG plans to expand its banking capabilities by adding more investment banking professionals in 2017.

“In 2013, we decided to leverage our successful distribution platform and expand into investment banking. Since then, we have hired 30 investment banking professionals located in San Francisco and New York, and expect to accelerate the effort in 2017,” said Scott Kovalik, Chief Executive Officer of BTIG. “We are excited about the rapid growth of our team. Their ability to design solutions for corporate and institutional clients has allowed us to become an increasingly relevant partner in the marketplace.”

BTIG has built a team of industry-focused investment banking professionals that provide expertise across key sectors and industries. The firm has completed deals in the consumer, energy, financials, healthcare, real estate and technology, media and telecommunications sectors. “We have been very active in the first quarter of 2017. So far, we have announced more than 20 deals, and the team has a strong pipeline in place for the year ahead,” said Charles Mather, Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets at BTIG. “BTIG’s focus on creating long-term partnerships is driven by a differentiated approach that includes access to compelling ideas, liquidity and capital.”

Recent transactions include IPOs, M&A advisory, follow-on offerings, ATMs, CMPOs, RDs and PIPEs, private placements, convertibles, capital markets advisory and debt products. “We continue to position BTIG to successfully accommodate the needs of clients,” said Matt Clark, Chief Operating Officer of Investment Banking at BTIG. “By heavily investing in our infrastructure and hiring experienced and talented bankers, we have extended our reach, grown our product offering and capitalized on the strong market activity.”
