BTIG Managing Director, Brett Mock To Become 2010 Chairman of Security Traders Association
New York – October 13, 2009 – BTIG LLC, a broker dealer specializing in institutional trading and related brokerage services, today announced that Brett Mock, a Managing Director with BTIG in San Francisco, will be inaugurated as the incoming 2010 Chairman of the Security Traders Association (STA). The inauguration will be held October 17th, 2009 at STA’s 76th annual national conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The STA is a worldwide professional trade organization that works to improve the ethics, business standards and working environment for its members. STA has over 5,200 members engaged in the buying, selling, and trading of securities. Members participate in STA through 26 national and international affiliate organizations and represent the interests of the trading community and institutional investors.
“I am excited and honored to be given this opportunity to serve the STA and its members as the 2010 Chairman” Mr. Mock said. “I plan to draw from my experience in the business to help further the goals of the STA and the institutional trading community. Mr. Mock has over fifteen years of experience in the equity trading business. He joined BTIG, in April 2006. Mr. Mock previously worked as a Director with Wachovia Capital Markets from 2003-2006, a Principal in equity trading with Bank of America/Montgomery Securities from 1998-2003, and as an equity trader with Spear, Leeds, & Kellogg (now a Goldman Sachs co) from 1995-1998. Mr. Mock is a graduate of the University of Washington.
