BTIG to Host Cannabis Conference on September 29, 2021

New York – September 9, 2021 – BTIG announced today that it will hold its first cannabis-focused conference, which will take place virtually, on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. This one-day event will include thematic panel discussions, fireside chats and one-on-one meetings. The conference will be hosted by Camilo Lyon, BTIG Lifestyle Brands and Wellness Analyst, and Thomas Catherwood, BTIG REIT Analyst.

Industry-leading private and public multi-state operators (MSOs), emerging cannabis brands and REITs will be participating in the firm’s conference. Management teams from each company will have an opportunity to directly connect with BTIG’s institutional investor clients. “The landscape for institutional investors focused on the cannabis industry is rapidly evolving,” noted Mr. Lyon. “Fundamentals show strong underlying demand trends, and most markets remain supply constrained. The BTIG Cannabis Conference gives our clients an opportunity to hear updates firsthand from industry leaders and pioneers.”

Mr. Lyon leads the firm’s research effort and focus on cannabis. His coverage of U.S. MSOs complements Mr. Catherwood’s longstanding REIT coverage, which is inclusive of cannabis-related REIT companies.

“Gathering cannabis producers, cultivators and unique brands in one place provides a valuable opportunity for institutional investors to compare and explore each company’s business model and proprietary technology side by side,” said Mr. Lyon. “We believe the U.S. cannabis industry is in the nascent stage of development. As legislative obstacles recede, we expect growth for the next decade while consumer education and adoption accelerate.”
